About the Role
\n
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Ormskirk from September. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support to a reception aged pupil with ADHD who has SEND.
\n
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the pupil access learning, develop positive relationships and achieve their full potential within the classroom environment.
\n
Key Responsibilities
\n
\n - Provide individual support to a reception-aged pupil.
\n - Encourage focus, engagement and participation in lessons.
\n - Support the pupil's social, emotional and behavioural development.
\n - Use positive behaviour management strategies to promote a calm and productive learning environment.
\n - Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school staff to ensure the pupil receives appropriate support.
\n - Build a positive and trusting relationship with the child whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
\n - Monitor progress and contribute to regular reviews and feedback.
\n

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
\n
\n - Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar educational setting.
\n - Experience supporting children with ADHD, SEND or additional learning needs.
\n - A calm, patient and nurturing approach.
\n - Confidence in managing challenging behaviour using positive and proactive strategies.
\n - Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
\n - The ability to remain resilient and adaptable in a busy school environment.
\n - A genuine passion for supporting children to succeed both academically and emotionally.
